Lisa has more than 30 years of experience in public education. She has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and Regional Service Center administrator focusing on leadership development and school improvement. In 2019 she retired after serving seven years as Superintendent of Point Isabel ISD (PIISD).
She has extensive knowledge of leveraging resources, local, state, and federal to maximize performance, analyzing trend data to influence decisions, and leading high performing teams through innovative change initiatives. As a superintendent, she is well known for growing leaders through mentorship and reflective practice. Lisa has successfully led numerous sustainable, innovative change initiatives. Most recently, she led efforts to transform the teaching and learning experience by guiding the creation of individual student pathways using blended learning.
Her reputation of bold decision making and a relentless pursuit of excellence is evident in her work. As superintendent, the culture shift to a growth mindset, holding everyone in the organization accountable for high quality instruction, every day, in every classroom for every student was her legacy.
