Phil has forty-three years of experience working at various levels in education. He served as an English, health, and physical education teacher, head basketball coach, and assistant principal. Most recently he served as the Principal of Lake Creek High School in Montgomery ISD, where he also served in the same capacity at Montgomery High School.
Phil is a former member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, serving as a leader in both groups. In 1997, he was honored as the T.H.S.C.A. All-Star Coach, and last year Phil was named one of the top 100 basketball coaches in the history of the Texas U.I.L.
Phil has a special interest in working with campus leadership teams and is experienced in building school culture, school branding, and administrative coaching.

As a college basketball player, Phil attended San Jacinto Junior College and Howard Payne University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree at HPU. His Educational Administration degree is from Stephen F. Austin University.
